To the Boss Bunnies Community:

It’s with a heavy heart that we share with you our decision to shut down the Boss Bunnies NFT project for future development. We are truly appreciative of all of our supporters who stuck with us till now, however we come to this decision as our main purpose for doing this project is no longer being achieved and the project is now doing more harm than good, both to ourselves and to all of our community members.

The reason we started Boss Bunnies NFT was a very simple one: we wanted to spread joy and happiness through sharing our artwork with the NFT community. That is the reason we switched our project to a free mint, because we wanted to share the art and make it as easy as possible for those wanting to break into the NFT space to be able to mint their very first tokens.

From day one we have always been completely transparent and truthful: that we are a 2 person team, that we have day jobs, that this project came to be as a result of our hobbies, that our time and money resources are limited etc. We had every intention to follow through with the future roadmap and build something great together, but we were also very clear through our website and communications that any future development would hinge on the treasury funds earned as a percentage of royalties. There are all sorts of projects in the NFT space nowadays: from genius grade 5 students learning to code all the way to huge companies like Nike. As NFT investors ourselves, we understand the need to do our own research and manage our own expectations with the information that’s been made publicly available by each team. As creators, we can’t control if people read about the project, we can only try our best to make the information available and clear. On the transparency side of things, we’ve made everything available through our website, social media accounts, and Terms of Use agreement. To this day we’ve followed our roadmap: we released Boss Bunnies Beats music productions and merchandise store all on time and according to what was outlined on our website. Community voting was only promised for treasury fund allocation but we wanted to include you guys early in other decisions. We thought it would be a good experience for everyone. We moved up the reveal date because we didn’t want to give holders the false sense of expectations and tensions rising as we knew that a lot of our minters were newcomers to NFTs. We don’t pump up our project to be more than what it is because that would be disingenuous.

However with all of the impatience, unrealistic expectations of how much time we “should” be dedicating to this project, and general negativity in the Discord, we are struggling to find any joy within ourselves to want to create anything. What used to be a fun hobby has now become shackles to us and even reading through the chats are becoming increasingly toxic and suffocating. NFTs were originally just a space for artists to finally be able to share their artwork with the world digitally with unique ownership verification. We ask ourselves, when did it become so toxic where community members are attacking creators and each other personally?

It pains us to see our supporters getting attacked in chat, having to stand up for us, and fight with haters. Of course, we understand that there are haters in every project, but seeing how much time people spend fighting each other in the Discord and how it’s affecting some of your mental health was a clear indication that this project is no longer doing what we had set out for it to do. For the haters out there, if you want to call this a rug, we can’t stop you, but we know in our own hearts that we were honest, genuine, and upheld our integrity during every step of the project because that’s who we are as individuals. Some people create NFTs with dreams to make millions, but that’s not us, otherwise we would have never chosen to make our project a free mint. Ultimately people can choose to think what they want to think and we can’t control that, but we have peace in our hearts knowing that we never compromised our values.

Going forward:

Bunnies — The bunny tokens are here to stay, they may be trading, or not, for 0 ETH, or more, but the art itself will remain. We would never burn your tokens or delete your images on the back end. We hope that the art itself can bring some of you a little bit of joy.

Royalties — We are decreasing royalty percentages from 10% to 8%. The difference would have been what went into Boss Bunnies Treasury, however token holders can consider this as a cost savings and our way of giving back. We are not zeroing out royalties because we believe that all artists should be compensated for their work.

Socials — Discord will be shut down immediately. There’s enough toxicity as it is in the Discord and we don’t want any more of that to spread. Twitter will still be up for the next 24 hours but will be deactivated after that.

Website — Our website will remain open. The tokens are still out on the blockchain and our legal counsel has advised that we ensure that our Terms of Use are publicly available. We have updated some of the information on the website to reflect the fact that there will no longer be any further development in the project.

Treasury — For the money that’s in the Boss Bunnies Treasury right now, we will use it to sweep the floor one last time. There isn’t a lot in the treasury, but we have no intention to take it for ourselves. Accounting for gas prices, even if we can only sweep a handful of tokens, we feel that this is the best thing we can do.

Finally, if you’ve read until this point, we just want to say thank you to all of our wonderful supporters in the community. This project has been a huge learning experience for us, and we hope that it has been for some of you as well. Stay safe and healthy, and try to stay positive out there.

Thanks for always keepin it real.
